The 1998 St Hallett Blackwell was a big success, and the 1999 vintage is just as impressive.Very deep crimson colour.Winemaker Stuart Blackwell has sourced fruit from a number of sites in the Barossa Valley, thus adding complexity to the blend.Aroma of dark chocolate, spice, plum and vanilla followed by a hint of confectionary and earth.The palate has excellent weight and depth, with flavours of ripe plum and spice over a background of ripe plum, chocolate and mocca.Fine grained tannins, excellent balance, followed by a very long spice, plum and vanilla aftertaste.
