Fujimaru “Table Top Daidai Iro” Delaware 2023
A limited-run orange wine made from a grape better known for jam and table fruit than fine wine.
Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Delaware grapes, hand-selected and grown in Yamanashi, Japan.
Taste Profile: A bright orange hue with a distinctive aroma of ripe oranges. Crisp and refreshing on the palate, with flavours of orange zest, apricot and a hint of nuttiness. Pairs well with sushi, sashimi and tempura, and is best served chilled. Only a limited number of bottles are produced each year.
Winemaking Process: Fermented with wild yeasts on the skins in an orange-wine style, in keeping with Fujimaru’s natural, minimal-intervention house approach.
Winemaker: Fujimaru is a pioneering urban winery founded by Tomofumi Fujimaru, with wineries in Osaka and Tokyo and its own vineyards in Osaka Prefecture, also sourcing hand-selected fruit like this Delaware from growers in Yamanashi.
