61.3% ABV (122.6 proof) | 750mL | 50/50 bourbon & rye blend — Nashville Barrel Company The Compromise settles the oldest argument in American whiskey by refusing to choose: a 50/50 blend of 9-year MGP straight bourbon (75% corn / 21% rye / 4% malted barley) and 7-year 100% Kentucky rye from an undisclosed Kentucky distillery, blended cask strength and non-chill filtered. Sourced, blended, and bottled in Nashville, Tennessee in collaboration with Nashtucky Whiskey Co. Named 16 on Fred Minnick’s Top 100 American Whiskeys of 2025. Available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor in San Diego, CA.

The two halves do exactly what you’d hope: toasted oak, brown sugar, and dark cherry from the bourbon; rye spice and peppercorn from the rye. The palate is oily toffee, vanilla, and cinnamon heat; the finish long, warming, leather and spice. Among cask-strength blends, The Compromise is that rare bottle built for both camps — bourbon drinkers get the sweetness, rye drinkers get the bite, and nobody has to compromise on proof.
